Empowering HIPsters to develop healthy lifestyle choices and activities to improve self-image. Includes setting and tracking personal fitness and dietary goals, team building through participation in exercise and athletics, and maintaining appropriate fitness hygiene.
Focuses on developing the necessary skills to become as independent as possible in the community. Includes how to make and keep friends, transportation, money management, problem-solving in the community, working in teams, using effective communication for social greetings and conversation, and understanding and following social cues and rules.
Vocation courses provide hands-on vocational training to explore future employment opportunities. Includes teamwork, following directions to complete a task, problem-solving, self-monitoring of production, time management, and developing positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
Provides HIPsters with an avenue of expression through visual arts and a pathway of developing communication and social awareness. Focuses on helping HIPsters find a hobby, passion and encouraging independence and collaboration by using the foundations of art to teach life skills, express thoughts and ideas, and celebrate individuality.
Focuses on leadership and advocacy skills. HIPsters gain the skills to identify personal attributes, practice problem solving, take personal responsibility, and make informed decisions.
